Rihanna Talks Chris Brown Friendship In Vogue Cover Story

Rihanna covers Vogue's November issue, making it her second time appearing front and center on the fashion magazine. Inside, she talks career, dating...and of course Chris Brown came up.
Photographed by Annie Leibovitz for the November spread, Rihanna sported her dark, cropped hair and a bright, red dress — contrasting the vibrant red 'do she rocked last time around. The interview begins with Rihanna's memorable night at the 2012 VMAs, winds through a listening session for her upcoming album Unapologetic, but also backtracks to the release of her now infamous "Birthday Cake (Remix)" and takes a peek at her non-dating life.
"I have not been on a date in forever. Like two years. Haven't gone to the movies, to dinner. Zero. I would love to go on a date," she said frankly during the interview. "You don't think that? I'm a woman. A young woman, vibrant, and I love to have fun. ... Seriously, all I want is a guy to take me out and make me laugh for a good hour and take my ass back home. He doesn't even have to come up. All I want is a conversation for an hour."
Her groans about having no dating life come after she and her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown have been spotted out and about together over the past few weeks, with Brown even splitting from his longtime girlfriend and admitting that his friendship with Rihanna was making things difficult.
"To the world, I feel like there's no closure," she explained of her relationship with Brown. "There's some obsession that's continued even throughout when we weren't friends or couldn't be friends at all. Hated each other. The world hasn't let go. They haven't seen any progress in our friendship, because they don't see anything, really, besides the song."
The first big hint that the two artists were reconciling came when Rihanna decided to add Brown to her "Birthday Cake (Remix)," an idea that she confirmed was all her own.
"I didn't think it could be anything detrimental to my career," she said. "I was on a tour bus ride between two cities, listening to my album, thinking, 'Oooh, maybe I should make this into a duet.' And I started coming up with a bunch of people, and his name crossed my mind. I thought, 'We haven't made a song in so long together ... it could be a little shocking.' "
"So now it's a bit of a fascination, I guess," she continued, still addressing the public's fixation on her and Brown's relationship. "I don't know if people will stop soon, but I feel like as soon as they have closure to it, they will. But they're not on the inside. They can't see what I see, unless they're sitting in my point of view. I guess I'll learn to accept that."

iOS 6 jailbreak gets full, built-in support for Cydia store

The updated Redsn0w also includes support for re-restoring devices to previous versions of iOS 5. (SCROLL DOWN TO JAILBREAK)

A hacking group has updated its iOS jailbreak, Redsn0w, with full support for an unauthorized app store and the ability to re-restore a device to an older version of Apple's mobile operating system.
The updated Redsn0w jailbreak hit the Web yesterday, enabling iOS 6 users to get full access to the third-party application store Cydia. Previously, Redsn0w users were forced to install Cydia manually. Now, they will find the app marketplace -- which includes programs that are not authorized for Apple's official App Store -- built in.
The hacking group, which calls itself the iPhone Dev-Team, announced its iOS 6 jailbreak less than a day after the latest Apple operating system launched last month. Apple frowns on users jailbreaking devices. The company argues that it eliminates some security features and leaves users open to potentially malicious programs prowling unauthorized app stores. Jailbreakers, however, view the activity as a fine way to take control over a device they own.

In addition to built-in Cydia support, the updated Redsn0w now lets users re-restore their devices to one of Apple's iOS 5 distributions. However, that feature is limited to iPhones and iPads that are currently running iOS 5.
The Redsn0w iOS 6 features are available only on those Apple devices running the A4 processor -- the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and fourth-generation iPod Touch. In addition, the jailbreak is only possible through tethering.
Apple launched iOS 6 last month as an over-the-air update. The operating system comes with over 200 improvements, including revamped Mail, new calling-response features, and iCloud Tabs support in Safari.

Jailbreak iOS 6 With Official Cydia On iPhone And iPod touch (A4) Using Redsn0w 0.9.15b1
By Uzair Ghani | October 14th, 2012

iPhone Dev-Team have just updated Redsn0w, adding full support for final public release of iOS 6 on select devices with official version of Cydia, along with tons of new features which are detailed after the jump.
Redsn0w 0.9.15b1 for both Windows and Mac not only adds support for tethered jailbreak of iOS 6 on A4 based devices, but also for re-restoring and downgrading of select devices from iOS 6 to an older firmware, or in case of re-restoring, from iOS 5.x to iOS 5.x.
Supported devices:
First and foremost, it is important to note this is a tethered jailbreak and is only meant for devices boasting an A4 processor (or below), namely: the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the 4th-gen iPod touch. Devices with A5 (iPhone 4S, iPad 2), A5X (iPad 3) and A6 (iPhone 5) processors are not supported at this point. Hacktivation + baseband preservation support has also been added for iPhone 4 and 3GS.

This latest version of Redsn0w does not require the user to go through the trouble of downloading and pointing the app to the iOS 6 IPSW for the jailbreak (the older version of Redsn0w, as mentioned in our previous jailbreak iOS 6 guide, required manual IPSW selection). Instead, the latest Redsn0w recognizes the firmware already installed on your device, downloads the required files and proceeds with the jailbreak. It’s that simple. Cydia, as mentioned above, is now also included as part of this Redsn0w’s release.

Instructions on how-to jailbreak iOS 6:
1. Redsn0w 0.9.15b1 can be downloaded from here (Windows | Mac).
2. Download iOS 6 from here, and update your A4 powered device to it. (check out this post if you want to read on how to update to iOS 6 the right way. Those of you who rely on unlock please read the note below before proceeding with the update.)
3. Start Redsn0w. Run it in Administrator mode if you are on Windows. OS X Mountain Lion users need to start it by Ctrl-Click on the Redsn0w icon and then selecting Open from the new menu.

4. Click on Jailbreak, select Cydia and enter DFU mode when Redsn0w prompts you to with the help of onscreen instructions. Once the device is in DFU mode, Redsn0w will start jailbreaking the device using limera1n exploit. When done, select “Autoboot this device when it connects in DFU mode” option to enter tethered mode for the time being.
After a short while, the device will reboot with familiar Cydia icon on the home screen.
Note for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS Ultrasn0w unlockers: You will first need to preserve your older baseband to be eligible for unlock. Click on “Extras” option and then select “Custom IPSW” option. Select the required iOS 6 IPSW file for your device, and let Redsn0w make the custom firmware for you. Once done, enter Pwned DFU mode by selecting “Pwned DFU” from Redsn0w’s Extras option, and then restore to this custom firmware.

How to boot your device tethered on iOS 6:
Since this is a tethered iOS 6 jailbreak, you will need to boot your device in a tethered mode every time the device is turned off and back on. Booting in tethered mode is easy, and can be achieved using Redsn0w: click on the "Extras" from the main screen and then simply click on "Just Boot" option. Follow the on-screen instructions. Once done, you will be rebooted back into tethered-jailbreak mode.

Cydia on iPhone 4, running iOS 6
New re-restore features have also been introduced by the Dev Team in this version of Redsn0w. It now allows third-gen iPad and iPhone 4S users to RE-restore to any version of iOS 5.x even if Apple is currently not signing the software, provided that your SHSH blobs are saved for iOS 5.x, and the device is currently running iOS 5.x (not iOS 6) that too updated via iTunes, not OTA. iPad 2 users will also be able to downgrade if they have blobs for both 4.x and 5.x saved – even from iOS 6. The A4 based iPhone 4, 3GS and 4th-gen iPod touch users can of course always downgrade to an older firmware for untethered jailbreak provided that they have SHSH blobs saved for the firmware they want to downgrade on (instructions here). Instructions on how to re-restore the above mentioned devices from iOS 5.x-to-iOS 5.x are detailed here.
It is also important to note that currently there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 (or even tethered jailbreak other than the devices mentioned above) available for public. The Dev-Teams though are working hard on it. We reported about iPhone 5 jailbreak being achieved last month on the launch day. But of course, it is no where near ready for primetime use yet. We will obviously let you know whenever it is.

Best Buy stores to match Amazon's prices through the holidays

As online shopping becomes increasingly popular, it would seem traditional brick and mortar operations anchored down by their expensive store fronts can't truly compete -- or can they? In what seems to be a daring game of commerce chicken, Best Buy says it will match Amazon's prices during the holidays. The company even plans to offer free home shipping for out of stock items.
Retailers -- the "real" kind with walls, parking lots and checkout stands -- have long chided Amazon for being an insufferable operation hell-bent on undercutting local shops. Amongst Amazon's advantages are certainly its absence of retail locations (low overhead), lack of physical constraints (they have everything) and sometimes skillful evasion of local sales tax (self-explanatory). Combined, these advantages definitely give the mega e-tailer a unique edge over local competition.
Best Buy hasn't been doing so hot, a fact which company execs attribute to a practice called showrooming. This phenomenon is the culmination of strong consumer interest to see products in person, but equally strong desire to pay a better price online. Companies like Amazon have made it incredibly easy, giving consumers the ability to scan barcodes with their smartphones, scour the net for better prices and leave stores empty handed.
It is not clear if matching Amazon's prices will hurt Best Buy's bottom line. There also seems to be an absence of finer details, like whether or not Best Buy will just price match Amazon's warehouse items or if it will also match Amazon's third-party Marketplace vendors. No doubt there will need to be additional training to spot these kinds of differences.
Would you shop at your local Best Buy if they match Amazon's prices? Personally, I can imagine the lines moving a little more slowly with all the manual overrides necessary to price match a sea of frugle customers. However, getting an item immediately, purchasing it at a competitive price and knowing you may return it without much fuss does sound pretty attractive.

Nicki Minaj Debuts In Justin Bieber's 'Beauty And A Beat' Video After Prank

Props to Justin Bieber  for pulling a prank on fans today that would likely make Kutcher proud. And turns out it was all just a brilliant idea to get everyone talking about his new video "Beauty and a Beat" featuring Nicki Minaj.
After putting out a fake report that his computer, featuring very personal footage, had been stolen at a show in Tacoma, Washington, Bieber then opened a fake Twitter account, under the moniker @gexwy, and promised that on Friday (October 12) at noon, some highly personal (and possibly naughty) footage would be leaked to the media featuring the pop star. A label spokesperson even told MTV News, "It's an unfortunate situation when personal property is stolen. There will be no further comment."
But, just as we suspected, the "stolen laptop" was all part of an elaborate viral stunt to hype up the latest Believe video, featuring Nicki Minaj, which dropped, as promised, at noon and featured the same handheld footage @gexwy teased as Bieber's private home movies.
Bieber confirmed suspicions that he was in on the whole thing moments before dropping the clip, which he co-directed with "Never Say Never" helmer Jon Chu. "Since i was 14 i have had a lot of things said about me, from dying, to taking hormones, to dying again, to stuff about my family...to saying i had a baby with a woman i never even met. nude pics, drugs, my family, my character...but today...today i get to be in on it...," he wrote, turning the tables on his high-profile haters.
The video itself keeps the joke going with this message at the beginning: "In October of 2012 three hours of personal footage was stolen from musician Justin Bieber. The following footage was illegally uploaded by an anonymous blogger."
That footage includes vintage video of Bieber performing and some more current insider clips of him playing Ping-Pong, chatting on the phone with Nicki and chilling with his crew.
The music video is shot to look like Bieber is holding a handheld camera the whole time. The grainy, shaky footage takes place at an epic pool party that features lots of synchronized swimmers and beautiful ladies, including the one-and-only Minaj.
As he makes his way through the bash, Bieber shows off his smooth dance moves, goes for a swim and dirty-dances with the femcee, who looks a bit like a fantastical ballerina spitting rhymes.
As the video nears its conclusion, it all gets a little meta as fans are treated to some behind-the-scenes footage of Bieber co-directing the video, a wink to the fact that he was in on the hoax the entire time. It ends rather triumphantly as Bieber, soaking wet from his trip down a water slide, stands in front of the camera cheering and fist-bumping extras.
And then, like most home videos, it just cuts off.

YouTube now ranking videos by time watched, not clicks

In a bid to boost the time users spend on the site, videos that hold viewers' attention will rise higher in searches.

YouTube's ongoing effort to keep visitors on its pages for longer took a new twist today, when the video portal said it will start ranking videos by how long people watch them.
The move makes it more difficult to game the system by choosing a provocative thumbnail image for your video in an effort to drive clicks. Instead, creators will be rewarded for actually getting viewers to watch the whole video.
It follows a similar change the Google-owned company made to its suggested videos feature earlier this year. "These changes better surface the videos that viewers actually watch, over those that they click on and then abandon," the company said at the time.
The move succeeded in getting viewers to stay longer, YouTube said today. The new search ranking algorithms should have a similar effect.
To help video creators adjust to the new ranking system, YouTube has added a 'time watched' metric to YouTube analytics.

iPhone 5 Video Review... The Good The Bad and The Bottom Line!

The good: The iPhone 5 adds everything we wanted in the iPhone 4S: 4G LTE, a longer, larger screen, free turn-by-turn navigation, and a faster A6 processor. Plus, its top-to-bottom redesign is sharp, slim, and feather-light.

The bad: Apple Maps feels unfinished and buggy; Sprint and Verizon models can't use voice and data simultaneously. The smaller connector renders current accessories unusable without an adapter. There's no NFC, and the screen size pales in comparison to jumbo Android models.

The bottom line: The iPhone 5 completely rebuilds the iPhone on a framework of new features and design, addressing its major previous shortcomings. It's absolutely the best iPhone to date, and it easily secures its place in the top tier of the smartphone universe.

Microsoft: Office coming to Android, iOS in March 2013

Talk of Microsoft Office showing up on Android and iOS devices is headlining tech sites once again. This time there’s some solid evidence in support of a mobile Office suite. Microsoft product manager Petr Bobek reportedly told Czech site IHNED that Office software for Android and iOS is coming in 2013.
The software will arrive as native apps on the mobile platforms, according to Bobek. Not long after the announcement, The Verge came forward with claims to have seen a press release from Microsoft’s Czech Republic team. The release confirms the software will be coming to the two most popular mobile operating systems alongside Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS and Symbian.
We’ve been hearing rumors of a version of Office for the iPad for the better part of a year now. The Daily was the first to report the story last November and even followed up on their article with a photo showing the app running on an iPad. Microsoft adamantly denied the accusations, claiming the story was based on inaccurate rumors and speculation.
More recent rumors suggested we would see an Android and iOS app surface in November. There’s still time for that to happen but based on the latest information, Microsoft will miss that target date. Instead, we’re now told to expect Office Mobile to arrive in March 2013.

The press release also points out that Office 2013 will be available to businesses in December. A consumer launch isn’t expected until the end of February 2013, however.

50 Cent Twitter Beef With French Montana!!

By Rob Markman
French Montana found himself in a dispute with 50 Cent, while trying to avoid beef in the first place. Go figure.
50 was upset about comments French made during an interview with Complex. "Yeah. You can't beef with people because it'll scare money away. In the streets you can strong arm people and take money but you can't do that in the industry," the "Pop That" rapper said in the interview that was published online on Tuesday before using 50 Cent's unforgettable rap beefs as an example.
"I feel like beef hurt him. I feel like it helped Ross unite people," Montana explained using Fif's issue with Ross as a specific example. "That's why Maybach Music is one of the biggest labels. It just makes sense...Of course, Ross is on his fifth album. And like I said, he's only getting bigger. This is going to be Ross' first platinum album. He never went platinum. So when 50 came up, 50 sold 10 million. Then after his first album he just kept on going down. You think 50 could come out and sell 10 million now?"
Well the G-Unit CEO didn't take to kindly to French's assessment of his career, and on Wednesday (October 10) morning, he tweeted out a link to Montana's quotes. "French Montana you ain't Sh-- boy. You out your league talking about me you hoe.i read your little interview what the fucx is you high," he wrote. "French your Sh-- so weak you never had a song by your self fool. Ain't nobody's waiting to hear your verse. Girl."
The Bad Boy, Maybach Music-affiliated responded with one tweet that he's since deleted. "damnnn homie last year u was da mannnnn homieeeeeee wat da fuuuckkk happen to uuuuuu," he wrote referencing a lyric in 50's 2003 single "Wanksta."
50 however continued his barrage, retweeting disparaging messages from his followers as well as addressing French himself. "Do you realize this fool @Frenchmontana hasn't sold one record and talking about sales," he wrote before putting a cap on it. "Im not tweeting about this little fool No more. I'm a see him and he gonna explain that's it."
How far do believe this 50 Cent and French Montana situation will go?

At the same time as announcing the pace of advance sales of the Twilight pic, MovieTickets.com also announced it will begin ticketing an additional 438 screens in Canada owned by Empire Theatres, solidifying its position as the online movie ticketing provider in Canada (Fandango is the largest in the U.S.).

Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’ reaches UK pop chart summit

London:  Barbadian pop singer Rihanna climbed to the top of the British charts on Sunday with her new single Diamonds, ousting South Korean pop star Psy and his internet video sensation Gangnam Style from the number one spot.

Local boy band One Direction were new in third place with Live While We’re Young, while London-born singer Adele burst in at number four with the theme song for the latest James Bond film Skyfall.

English singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding arrived in fifth place with her new single “Anything Could Happen”, the Official Charts Company said.

British stadium rockers Muse shot to the summit of the album charts with their new release “The 2nd Law”, including the track “Survival”, the official song of London’s 2012 Olympic Games.
Boy band Overtones entered the charts at number six with their second album release “Higher”.
Veteran British rock band the Electric Light Orchestra re-entered the list at number 10 with their 2005 greatest hits compilation “All Over The World”, notching up a 173rd week in the charts.

Rihanna Tweets First Nude Fragrance Ad To Her 26 Million Followers (Photo)

The singer's fragrance launch follows Chris Brown's release of a strange personal video asking if its possible to love two people.

As if Rihanna needs more social media traffic—or controversy—her new fragrance is called Nude. That’s right. Rihanna’s Nude. And she tweeted the first promo ad for her new scent to her over 26 million followers last night.

"Here is my new add for a brand new fragrance #NUDE !!! Make sure you smell sexy, especially naked, this fall," tweeted the sexy Barbados-born singer.
STORY: Rihanna Gets Goddess Isis Tattooed On Her Chest in Honor Of Late Grandmother

The Nude ad features Rihanna,  24, looking very Old Hollywood glamorous with wavy platinum blonde hair, wearing a cream lace bra with sheer cream chiffon fabric wafting over her nether region. Rihanna smiles broadly and, really, why wouldn’t she? Given her popularity with men and women, this fragrance is sure to sell like crazy.

This scent follows her Reb’l Fleur perfume, released in 2011 by Parlux Fragrances Inc, which also handles Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson's successful fragrance lines.
However, the fragrance ad follows the recent drama in her personal life about her relationship with Chris Brown, who pled guilty to felony assault in June 2009 following an altercation with the singer earlier that year in February, on the eve of the Grammy Awards in 2008.

This week Brown confirmed that he has broken up girlfriend Karrueche Tran because of his “friendship” with Rihanna. Brown released a video in which he asks, "Is there such a thing as loving two people?"
As for Rihanna, she merely tweeted, "Ain’t nobody’s bidness but me and my baby.”
Tell us: What do you think about Rihanna's new fragrance and the possibility of her being back with Chris Brown?

Box Office: Liam Neeson Takens It Again, Comes Up With $50 Million Debut!

Box Office: Liam Neeson Takens It Again, Comes Up With $50 Million Debut!
by Joal Ryan Today

 Twentieth Century Fox
The legend of Liam Neeson's action career grows.
Neeson's Taken 2 blew up at the weekend box office with an estimated $50 million, the third-largest debut ever for an October release, and probably the all-time best start for a revenge film with a leading man of a certain age.
(Hint: Neeson's 60.)
Neeson goes out all for Taken 2 promo tour
Taken 2 doubled the bow of the original Taken, the 2009 hit that kicked Neeson to the head of the kick-ass genre.
The sequel's start is the third-biggest opener for Neeson, behind only the mega-spectacles of Star Wars: Episode I—The Phanton Menace and 2010's Clash of the Titans.
The only October films to bow bigger were Paranormal Activity 3 and Jackass 3-D.
Overseas, where Taken 2 opened in some countries last week, the movie took in another $55 million, upping its worldwide total to $117 million.
Neeson's top 10 bad-ass movies
Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, the other major new release, looked only half-alive with a fifth-place, $11.5 million debut. (Halloween holdover Hotel Transylvania, by comparison, took in $26.3 million.) One saving grace for Frankenweenie: The dead-dog tale reportedly was made for an animation-cheap $39 million.
The R-rated antics of Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron were good for a solid, but not-sensational start for The Paperboy, which grossed $110,033 at 11 theaters, but saw per-screen-average bragging rights go to Taken 2.
Elsewhere, Pitch Perfect went wide, and grossed $14.7 million. To date, the $17 million comedy has grossed $21.6 million domestically.
Pitch Perfect's Rebel Wilson interviews herself
Maggie Gyllenhaal's and Viola Davis' Won't Back Down ($1 million; $4.5 million overall domestically) made a quick exit from the Top 10—and that can't help whatever Oscar chances the film had, or rather, had left.
On the plus side, the charter-school drama has become the Oogieloves of charter-school dramas—it reigns as the worst-ever opening film on more than 2,500 screens; the summer's Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure holds the distinction as the worst-ever opening film on up to 2,500 screens.
Sorry, there's not really a plus side here, is there?
Why your Oscar pool won't be complete without this film
Overall, it was another rebound weekend for Hollywood. According to Exhibitor Relations, ticket sales for the top movies were up a whopping 55 percent when compared to the same weekend last year.

Here's a complete look at the weekend's top movies, per Friday-Sunday domestic estimates as reported by the studios and Exhibitor Relations:
    1.    Taken 2, $50 million
    2.    Hotel Transylvania, $26.3 million
    3.    Pitch Perfect, $14.7 million
    4.    Looper, $12.2 million
    5.    End of Watch, $4 million
    6.    Trouble With the Curve, $3.9 million
    7.    Frankenweenie, $11.5 million
    8.    House at the End of the Street, $3.7 million
    9.    The Master, $1.8 million
    10.    Finding Nemo, $1.6 million

FT-ONE supports up to 1000 frames per second.

FOR-A plans to introduce a 4K camera that supports variable frame rates up to 1000 frames per second to enable slow motion capabilities.
“While digital cinematography has been widely adopted within the motion picture production and postproduction communities, there has been a technology gap — the ability to record a super slow motion image at full 4K resolution,” said FOR-A president Hiro Tanoue in a statement. “The new FT-ONE completes the 4K workflow by introducing this ability.”
According to FOR-A, images are captured as uncompressed raw data on the system’s internal (RAM) memory, which has a recording capacity of 8.5 seconds. This data is stored on one of two hot-swappable SSD cartridges (each capable of storing 75 seconds of 4K images).
FOR-A reported that the FT-ONE — which weights 7kg — incorporates a newly-developed CMOS sensor, uses PL mount lenses, and is capable of simultaneously recording and playing back in 4K resolution. Pricing and availability was not announced.
The camera will be displayed at production technology show Cine Gear Expo, June 1-2 at The Studios at Paramount.
